This work is centered on the theoretical study of the low loss spectra of group-III nitride semiconductors. For this purpose, DFT-based calculations are performed and specific code
for the analysis of the results has been developed.
The field of nanoplasmonics is young but rich in phenomena that have inspired practical uses in
physics, biomedicine, environmental monitoring, and national security. This article introduces the basic concepts behind the main applications of nanoplasmonics.
